Light of Love

So beautiful and so true!
There’s always a light glimmering in the dark, just like the moon & the stars in the vast darkness of the sky at night. The darkness does not vanquish the light. Even a small spark of light is so powerful. Even when we cannot feel the light automatically, we can choose to search for it and acknowledge its existence. Beauty & light & hope come in many forms, the stars in the sky, the warm touch of a friend, a loving embrace, a cool Summer breeze, the warmth of a hot drink in the dead of Winter, the various colors of nature in Spring & Fall, fragrant flowers, the blue sky, the sweet taste of cold water or iced tea on a hot day, the sounds of a busy city or the churring of insects in a quiet countryside, friendly strangers, an inspiring quote, random acts of kindness, the boundless love within each of us… Let’s keep acknowledging that lovelight! ❤ Thank you for this beautiful reminder! Very inspiring!! ❤ 😀

Make Others Happy by Smiling

I love this!! It’s so true, our energy, expressions, gestures, actions, words…have an impact on others even if we don’t always realize it. That’s the main reason I want to be positive as much as possible. There’s always something to smile about! 😀 ❤ 😀

Nothing is more fulfilling than making others happy. So, smile as much as you can.

This phrase is basically a no-brainer. However, many people usually forget the effect that they can have on others. Just like how others smile if you smile, they also frown if you frown. If you’re feeling crappy, others around you will start feeling crappy as well.

I have a friend who is always so happy and upbeat, that whenever I hang out with her I find myself feeling great as well, even though I was feeling bad just a second ago. But since I’m her close friend, I know that sometimes she does feel sad or uneasy inside. We’re all humans- it’s impossible for anyone to be so happy all the time. But I love that she tries to be happy no matter what her situation so as not to affect others. This is something…

Wordless Wednesday

So beautiful! This photo is full of passion and looks like something big or dramatic is about to happen, like a storm or a change of some sort, in a symbolic way. Very inspiring! It almost looks like a painting; the clouds resemble brushstrokes. Sky pictures are some of my favorites, especially when it’s bright blue like here with some clouds. This is a great picture to elicit poetry, like in those challenges where a person looks at a picture and writes whatever comes to mind, something poetic inspired by the photo. I’m usually not good at that but if I was participating in that challenge, I feel that this would be the perfect photo! ❤ 😀

Where I live, a lot of people choose engineering as a field. Even though I chose it myself, everyone always seems to be laughing at the fact that a girl chose it of her own accord. People used to ask me what the point of it was, since I have to sit at home and cook anyway. At age 10, I asked my dad if that was true.

I can never forget what he told me that day.

Sunday Shadows

Let’s not forget to cherish and celebrate not just beautiful things themselves but the shadows and reflections and edges of things, the lines and indentations and surfaces and textures….these things are beautiful too and often overlooked. These photos are a beautiful reminder! ❤ 😀

Sunshine Award

wp-1457749025343

Thank you so, so much, Sonali, at Howling With the Wolf:

https://howlingwiththewolf.wordpress.com/

for nominating me for this lovely award! I’m so honored and happy to receive it! Please go check out her wonderful blog! She’s an amazing person and writer! I’m so happy our paths crossed here on WordPress!! ❤ ❤

Here are the questions and my answers.

1. If you could pick one line from your About Me page(or whatever you renamed it to) to describe you, which line would you pick?

"I believe in Metta or Universal Love, ONE love. Loving and wishing the very best for every living, sentient being everywhere. This includes those who are not so easily lovable.

I’m extremely easily amused! I laugh at the dumbest and most inappropriate things. It’s fun but gets me into trouble now and again! I even laugh when I’m alone and at things that happened years ago. It’s very easy to entertain me. Lol I love being around lots of people but I also take pleasure in my own company."

This is two lines/paragraphs isn't it? Oh, well! They describe me well! ❤

2. Which is your favourite post from your own blog and why? (It could be because of the memories attached or the frame of mind you wrote it in, a comment you received)

https://inspirationalgem.wordpress.com/2013/11/29/love-humanness-oneness/

This for sure is one of my favorites! It's beautiful and awe-inspiring. Lol No, I'm not giving myself a big pat on the back or bragging! It's awe-inspiring because of the excerpts I share out of Dr. Buscaglia's book Personhood! The man is amazing!

3. Is there anyone who knows enough about you to give you advice that you would actually take?

I would take the advice of someone if it seems wise to me even if the person doesn't know me well. I'm very open so I think people know me well usually. Even some of my online friends give me suggestions sometimes for what to read or youtube videos…they think I would love. I always appreciate it when people pay attention to my personality enough to know what I would probably love or not like. Some of my friends both online and in person friends have let me known when people tagged me in violent, racist, homophobic…stuff on facebook because they know I don’t like it. I don’t always see my notifications and my profile is public and i have thousands of friends and I occasionally get tagged in and added to groups with content that I disagree with. It’s great to have people know me well! ❤

4. Has your blog changed your life? In what way?

Yes! I love the connections I have with people here and I think even more positively after posting so much positive stuff. And even more than I used to, I question what each experience is teaching me and how I can potentially share it to help others.

5. Do you have any siblings?

I have one sister. She's over ten years younger than me.

6. Are you more comfortable with friends on your blog or in real life? (Yes, I borrowed this question)

Both! I love having both online and in person friends.

7. What is your favourite TV show or movie?

I don't watch TV, except sometimes if someone else is already watching it. I love movies even though I don't watch them a whole lot. One movie I love is "What Happens in Vegas" because it's hilarious and the memory of first seeing it. I laughed so much watching it in the theatre, for a few minutes I thought I was literally going insane, I could not stop laughing so hysterically. The fact that I just got out of a psychiatric hospital back then did not help my concern that I was going insane! Lol a good belly laugh is just what we need when we are just released out of a nuthouse. It's a fun memory! ;-D ❤

8. If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you like to have with you?

A camera for sure! There would be so many things to take pictures of! My hairbrush! Lol My hair gets so tangled easily! Books or a Kindle(with books already on it since I'm nearly certain there would be no wifi)!

9. If you had an unlimited amount of money to spend, what would you do with it?

I would definitely help as many people as I can, both organizations that help others and individual people who need help.

I always thought it would be amazing to be a multi- billionaire simply to have the opportunity to run up to random people on the streets and say "Here have a billion dollars!" while handing them like a briefcase full of cash then running off. Lol Amazing!

Imagine the confusion and looks on their faces.

Also, I would give money to help animals. I would also pay off all the debt I'm in! Lol And of course, I would go on a few shopping sprees! 😀

Which two clothes would you choose from your closet to define your personality?

One would be the socks I have. They are all colored or have patterns that are fun, silly, playful…I'm very playful and love colors and designs that stand out or are just not plain. I almost never wear black or white sox. They have to be vibrant, colorful, pretty…

IMG_14173054_1

Also, a white hoodie I have that says "love" because I'm very loving and try to live each day full of love.

11. If you could go back to the past and meet one person, who would you meet?

I would love to meet the Buddha!

“RULES:

Thank the person who nominated you in the blog post (basically say something nice about him/her..we all like to hear good things about us right?
Answer the 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
Nominate 11 blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer.”

11222250_683559695111297_2668668847839155529_n(1)
(not my photo)

Would you? Lol

4.) What is one cliche or quote you do not agree with or think is plain stupid? For example: “Blood is thicker than water” & “You can’t love
anyone until you love yourself…” To me, both are baloney.

5.) What is one thing you love about yourself?

6.) What is one personality trait you love to see in others?

7.) If you were able to have any healing power what would you choose?

8.) If you had to choose a vacation in a warm, tropical place or a cold, Wintery place, which would you choose?

9.) What do you think is a more important virtue, justice or mercy?

10.) Do you feel more drawn to live in a big city full of traffic and buildings and noise and lots of people or a quiet countryside with mostly just the chiring of crickets in the night and the surrounding stillness?

11.) If a tree falls in the middle of a forrest and hits the ground but there’s no one to hear the loud crash, does it still make a sound? (philosophy was my major in college, I have to ask!) Lol

I’m nominating some beautiful blogs which haven’t already been nominated in this case for this award.

There’s many more blogs I love just as much but the list has to end somewhere! Lol

Even if you don’t participate in awards I still love you and your blog!
And if you want, you can still answer the questions or some or one, even if you don’t want to participate in the award. You can answer here in the comment section if you want! I would still love to see your answers!

Also, I still have a few sweet comments to catch up on here! Thank you so much! I will respond soon! If I ever don’t respond to a comment, it’s either because I did not see it or will respond soon but haven’t got around to it yet(unless it’s a rude comment or sarcastic or something then I may not respond at all even if I see it! Lol). I never ignore well intentioned comments, I will always acknowledge them most likely with a comment in response or if not then a “like.”

Much love & light to you today & always!

“Why Do You Like Makeup So Much?”

Beautiful post! I completely agree that what is important is realizing our passion and going for it whether it’s in terms of a career, lifestyle, or a hobby just for fun. And not only that but encouraging others to do the same whether it’s something we are interested in or see value in or not.
And if it brings happiness out in us, it always has value as long as it’s not interfering with others.

I absolutely love makeup but I’m certainly no makeup expert and a career or even “advanced” or serious hobby in makeup isn’t for me.
I just love to wear and apply makeup myself and don’t know much about it other than applying basic eye makeup and lipstick. And just that is so fun.
I can definitely see how many women (and even some men!) see it as a form of art and I strongly support their passion for it.
I sometimes love looking at beauty instagram accounts and reading beauty blogs and looking at the photos and even watching some tutorials that I most likely will never try myself. It just thrills me and fills me with a general sense of inspiration to see makeup, hair, nails and things like that.
There’s nothing more beautiful than a beautiful woman and not just physically but a woman with passion and character and confidence who knows what her passion is and pursues it while also encouraging others to do the same.
Makeup is not being fake or shallow or deceiving. It helps complement/enhance our beauty, playing up our natural beauty. We don’t need makeup to be beautiful but it’s not wrong to love it and take pleasure in using, buying, and looking at it.
It’s great to be so passionate and full of joy.

One of my greatest passions is photography, not as a career or anything but as a hobby just for fun. I’m not a photographer and don’t know much about it but taking pictures and editing them however I feel like is my passion along with looking at the photos of others who love photography/picture taking. People occasionally say the same to me, like why do I love taking pictures so much (especially ones they see as “pointless”) and that it’s deceiving to edit them and that it’s not creative because anyone can take a picture. But it’s not deceiving to edit (unless we lie and say it’s not edited, which I never do!), editing in creative ways is a big part of photography and it IS creative because we don’t all see things the same way and aren’t all drawn to the same objects/people/animals to take pics of. We all convey different things in different ways through our photos. It’s how we see things and portray them, not the equipment, that matters most.
It’s the same with makeup. There are different ways to apply it, mix it, and express our own selves. It doesn’t take away our natural beauty; it adds to it. Even if we all wear the same makeup the same way, we’ll still look different than each other. We all have our own unique ways.
I think we should never feel pressured to have to explain our passions, careers, hobbies, lifestyles…to those committed to misunderstanding and negatively judging us and writing bitter comments.
They are best, in my opinion, to just ignore.
There’s no need to write rude comments to people just for the thrill of it. If we don’t like something or disagree with certain aspects or have suggestions and have constructive criticism and feel it’s truly necessary to express it, that’s one thing and can even be helpful but trying to drag others down is another. If we see something we don’t like, unless we have something we think is truly helpful or thought provoking to say, I think it’s best to just skip it than trying to insult, anger, annoy, or hurt someone.
When we try to degrade someone, we really only degrade ourselves and reveal who we are choosing to be at that moment.
It won’t bring us up to drag someone else down.
I hope we will all vow to try to lift others, not try to degrade each other.
Every woman who has the courage to live how she wants and share her passion, beauty, and love with others, knowing she can and probably will at one point or another be criticized in a destructive or other way, is beautiful!
❤ Thank you for this lovely post! It's so empowering!
😀
