Appreciate beauty

(This isn’t my photo.)

My phone, which I use to post here, is broken! I’m ususing my kkindle now and its kind of slow n difficult to use for blogging but that won’t stop me! My goal is to post or reblog at least one inspiring thing each day! And this photo is a beautiful reminder! Let’s consciously take in, cherish, and appreciate each beautiful thing we find in whichever form it comes to us and not just appreciate what we happen to find but look for the beauty everywhere each day!

My dad is buying me a new phone and it will be coming in the mail soon! A marshmallow droid 6.0! Maybe it will have a WordPress app!! 😀

Much love & light, always,

For the Fear of Death

I love this!! As the saying goes “what we do for ourselves dies with us but what we do for others lives on.” ❤ Life has to eventually end; it's just the way it goes. But if we live as best as we can, keep evolving, living, loving and doing for others, forgive, move forward, help and give in any ways we can, then we live a full life and dying will be easier. ❤

True Forgiveness

Incredibly inspiring!! It’s so great to keep this in mind whenever we do not like something that someone does, says, or feels.
We are not our delusions.
This is a loving sentiment that can guide us on our journey of love & compassion. ❤ 😀

Tara Praises's avatarAwakening the Light of Wisdom

“Although living beings’ minds are filled with delusions, living beings themselves are not faulty.  We say that sea water is salty, but in fact it is the salt in the water that makes it salty, not the water itself.  The real taste of water is not salty.  Similarly, all the faults we see in people are actually the faults of their delusions, not of the people themselves.”

“We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everyhwere.” ~ Tim McGraw ❤

I got this really old penny not too long ago. It's a 1919 wheat penny. I'm not really into coins or a collector but I love wheat pennies! Especially this one because it's the oldest one I ever saw.

And here it is next to a 1956 one(also a wheatie).

Old coins remind me of that quote above. I love thinking of all the people who touched the coin before me. I hold in my hand a penny that someone touched, carried, held in 1919! It’s so amazing!

I imagine someone walking up a cobblestone street, possibly in Philadelphia, with this penny.

It probably no longer has the fingerprints on it of those back then because so many have touched it since then. But it’s inspiring to think of how this penny made it to 2016 and has been touched by many.

I LOVE old things that people have touched before me, years, decades, centuries ago. ❤

I wrote about my love for antiquarian books here:

https://inspirationalgem.wordpress.com/2014/02/22/for-the-love-of-antiquarian-books-things-touched/

One of my favorite things about old money and old, used books is how they have been a part of so many lives, so many people, through the good & bad, the ugly & beautiful, the laughter and tears, the love & pain….

So many of our lives cross indirectly by the things we touch. Forever imprints.

I hope you are having a beautiful day or night wherever in the world you are! ❤

Life-Changing Wisdom

I always love this simple but profound wisdom! Yes, it’s better, more effective, to focus on our own journey and progress than compare it to others in a negative way. We all live at our own pace, have our own skills and experiences and there’s no sense comparing ours to the lives of others. And we can allow others to inspire and motivate us instead of getting jealous, frustrated, or depressed. Comparison is almost never good whether we feel we come up short or feel that we are better somehow than someone else. Let’s celebrate the success and beauty of others and our own selves! 😀 ❤

Cute Pet

So cute!! Fluffy lil snowball! Animals just have a special ability to brighten any day. ❤ 😀

(my King, Oscar, & me last night! We’re in bed getting ready to go to sleep <3)

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” ~Leo Buscaglia

This is King Oscar! He used to be Prince Oscar but he has been promoted to King! 😀

❤

He's an old boy and can't really hear or see but he's very cuddly and loves to snuggle. He sleeps in my bed each night and snuggles on my neck! He also slobbers a lot. eww! lol

He is an extra large shih tzu!

And this is my baby, Boobie. She died yesterday. 😦 </3

She was nearly fourteen years old and her life was just up. I am devestated but so thankful she had a loving furever home with me for so many years.

I had her since she was a pup & I was sixteen years old. I can't imagine this life without my girl. </3

But I focus on the positive, the love, the goodness, the happy memories. She was the sweetest girl, loving and funny, a barker and beggar! lol

She brought us toys and loved to snuggle with my mom!

My mom isn't well after our loss. She loves animals and Boobie was closest to her.

I have loved & lost many pets through the years and know this pain well but it always feels new in a way. Each loss feels unbearable sometimes even though there were many before.

But like I said, I'm focusing on the good and not dwelling too much on the sad loss.

I’m more sad for my baby than for me. I miss her but she’s the one dead. I would have died so she can live if I could have. But that can’t be so I’m just cherishing the love & memories!

I'm wishing you much love & light, always. ❤

Each Day a Blessing

So profound when we really think about it. All we have is today. Now. And we have the power to choose to make it great. It may take practice for some if it doesn’t come naturally and even if it does, we can strengthen it, the ability to choose positivity and to be mindful of the present moment. Thank you for this great post! 😀 ❤

You Are Not Meant to Stay Wounded

So inspiring! I love it! It resonates with me deeply. No matter what pain we have experienced or are experiencing, we don’t have to be stuck in it or held back by it. We can move forward and heal and be happy and full of joy in general. It doesn’t mean we forget the painful experience or are no longer affected by it at all. We just don’t have to let it drag and hold us down. We are not our pain and pain doesn’t have to rule us or our life. It’s up to us to make choices to be better, to evolve, and be happy. Very empowering! Thank you! 😀 ❤

“There’s always a story. It’s all stories, really. The sun coming up every day is a story. Everything’s got a story in it. Change the story, change the world.”~
Terry Pratchett

(I don’t know if this source is correct)

Today I woke up early and watched the sun rise. Beautiful & inspiring & magical as always!

Isn’t this a sweet quote?! So empowering. If we create positive stories, maintain positive thoughts and attitudes and energy, it will change the world around us and at the very least, our inner world. But our energy, thoughts, actions….have a ripple effect and go out into the larger world for better or worse. Let’s make it better! 😀 ❤
