What if You Won $86,400 Every Day for Life? {sharing} <3

ImageThis is NOT something I wrote and I don’t know who the wonderful author is. But I find it extremely inspirational and I would love to share and help inspire others! <3. Sharing is caring. 😀

What if You Won $86,400 Every Day for Life?

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest:

Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your use.

However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules.

The first set of rules would be:

Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you.

You may not simply transfer money into some other account. You may only spend it. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day.

The second set of rules:

The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say,

Its over, the game is over!

It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted, right?

Not only for yourself, but for all people you love, right?

Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY, this GAME is REALITY!

Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just can’t seem to see it. The MAGICAL BANK is TIME!

Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us. What we haven’t lived up that day is forever lost. Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time…. without warning.

So, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Aren’t they worth so much more than the same amount in dollars?

Think about that, and always think of this:

Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life!

Personal Development & Blog Thanks <3

I have always loved having my own blogs, free websites, profiles and all since I was a young teenager and was first introduced to the internet.

I used to use America Online /AOL free homepages and profiles to write all about myself and promote what I loved, usually tv shows, friends, and silly teenage stuff I was really, really into back then.

I created as many as I could about any topic under the sun.

But I usually never stayed with one blog or website too long.

Since I had no credit card and no money and the hosts were free much of my exercise over them was very limited.

Then a few years ago I became extremely interested in the topic of Personal Development.

I have always been one to think positively more than negative when I wasn’t depressed and I have always liked the idea of self help topics.

But some years ago I came across a facebook page (Personal Development and Inspiration) promoting the blog by Justin Tillman previously at JustinTillman.com now http://www.theuncommonlife.net/

And it touched and inspired me so deeply.

I became more aware of the impact personal development and self help books, blogs, topics, websites, other people’s life stories…can have on us if we only let them.

I read Justin Tillman’s blog and facebook statuses and everything I could, written by him, and it opened me up to the world of true positive thinking as a way of life and an intentional developed habit and working on the self to create the life of your dreams. His life inspired my life. His self acceptance deeply touched me and motivated me to accept parts of myself I was so unwilling to accept. Even if you’re already a mostly positive and happy person, whether or not you struggle with a mental health condition, personal development as a subject can really help you.

Many people reject it and think it’s silly or common sense or only for people with very serious problems, or only for the weak.

None of this is true.

Anyone can benefit in different ways and to different degrees and I find it quite inspirational and uplifting to read or hear positive things even if it’s something I already know or heard before. Friendly reminders every now and then are great.

I believe maintaining healthy self esteem and maintaining inspiration and motivation and an extra positive attitude is somewhat similar to learning a new language.

You have to keep up on it to make it useful to you a long while later. When you take a language course, it’s not realistic to learn the language and never use it or practice or keep up on it and expect to remember it flawlessly years or maybe even months or weeks later. You’ll soon forget.

And so it is with personal development practices.

You have to consciously and intentionally work at it if you genuinely want it to always stay with you and be a part of your life.

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” – Zig Ziglar

Personal development techniques have to be learned, practiced, and strictly and seriously applied though before they can be completely effective for the long term.

You really can’t just skim through a book, take it lightly and just forget it and then claim it’s stupid or don’t work. Well, you can but that’s not a good idea. You have to use it to the best of your ability for it to help transform you.

Self help books and blogs, just like psychotherapy sessions and therapists won’t change your life just by themselves, YOU have to work along with them and the choice is ultimately up to you, no one else.

No one can change your life except for you but people and things can help greatly along the way. They can be crucial to your healing.

I read self help books and have been in psychotherapy sessions for a while and noticed that they did help me a lot but it’s not until one moment of despair when I decided I could take no more, contemplating ending my life, that I turned the other way and really decided to take charge of my own life, my own mind, my own self that those books and therapy really changed me for the better.

I gathered up every personal development book I had and bought more and I searched the internet for any blogs, websites, people, e-books, anything that could help me help myself and I have become more receptive and practiced and applied more and practiced more mindfulness meditation and practiced every technique I have ever learned that I felt would work for me and it helped me incredibly and still does til this day.

For once I felt compassion for myself that I felt for others and I knew that it’s up to me to be sure I don’t lose my life to the pain and despair of depression and physical pain.

I was bursting with joy and amazement for everything I knew and learned and with this newfound light and awakening inside and I wanted not only to help myself but to share all this with as many people I possibly could whether they have severe mental health issues, minor stress problems, or just want to make some things in their lives and the lives of others, better.

I posted stuff on facebook in hopes to help people learn what I have learned and experienced. But what I really wanted was a specific blog dedicated to mostly positive, inspirational, personal development stuff.

I tried weebly, yola, blogger, and many others that just are not compatible with my mobile phone which is what I’m always using. I don’t usually have computer access.

I would get discouraged and give up.

And one day a facebook friend of mine suggested I write an ebook or create a facebook like page or a blog for this.

That gave me motivation to try again and I somehow came across a wordpress blackberry app.

I installed it and it doesn’t work on my phone but it led me to realize that while it can be difficult and frustrating at some points, internet wordpress works on my phone without the app, to a certain point.

I can’t do everything I can on a computer and it’s kind of slow when I’m posting but still works and is very worth the trouble it sometimes causes.

I want to and plan to start posting here more.

The thing that usually stops me is the slowness and partial incompatibility with my phone and wordpress. But this blog is actually one of my biggest dreams! Lol it may sound stupid to some.

But I have always for sooo long wanted an online blog to make a collection of all my personal development ideas I have come up with and learned and read, my own and other people’s. And here it is!

Like I said before, it’s not the prettiest or well advanced but it’s everything I dreamed of.

😀

I have known people who gave up on therapy and personal development books and materials saying they weren’t working.

Therapists, doctors, medication, books, life coaches cannot cure you and will not cure you alone. You are the main one that has to get yourself better.

They are not in your head or your body and they don’t know you like you know yourself and they never will. They can know you well but only you can solve your problems completely and in depth.

Only you have control over yourself. And only you should.

I promote personal development books, blogs, websites, and psychotherapy but I know we are the main ones responsible for ourselves and have to work along with those things.

My depressive disorder while extremely devastating and agonizing has turned out to be the catalyst for my positive transformation.

I was a happy and positive little girl before my depression hit at a very young age; I was still happy and positive after as it would always lift now & again but did become frequent. Very easy tempered and joyful and grateful and I loved me for me. But after a few years of depression, even when my depression would lift for a while, it just always came back. I still had days, months, weeks…and moments of happiness but depression and depressive-like ways would take over again but then after many years of worsening this depression motivated me to more than ever want and attempt to make a change for the better.

I believe if I never developed depression I would have grown into a healthy, happy, more positive than negative adult for the most part but still not as well off and happy and positive and grateful as I am now because I would have very likely not worked to even better myself.

When people are already happy and healthy they often don’t think they can get any better but sometimes they can!

Even though I still struggle with severe depressive episodes, it’s not as frequent as before and in the middle, my happiness is genuine & deep like it was before but more frequent now.

I have learned so much and while I would never go out looking for pain and depression, I have made the choice to view my depression as a gift, as a blessing because it motivated me to make a change.

It’s just like when a person is diagnosed with a long term physical illness and works so hard on health and becomes healthier than even that person was before the illness hit and healthier than even people who aren’t sick!

It’s extremely difficult because depression takes away everything. It takes away pleasure, inspiration, motivation, desires, abilities to function in different ways, it takes away our sense of self and even the will to live. And it just kept coming back.

Often physical illness and pain motivates people to want to survive, to want to do all they can to get better and live; it pushes people to give all they have. But depression is quite the opposite. It often makes people just want to give up, give in, quit, come to an end. There is often no will to survive with severe depression. There is no desire.

But it’s possible to push through and come out on the other side into the bright light.

This life is different now after I learned how to help myself. It’s sunnier and brighter and better more frequently than when I was young.

I can’t say with certainty that my depression will ever completely go away for good. I may always have recurrent episodes.

But they are not as frequent and usually not as long as they used to be and now I have no depression in the middle of them like I used to a lot and I can handle episodes better because of my strengthened positive/gratitude thinking habit.

And I can now often detect an impending episode and divert my thinking and prevent it before it turns to a full blown episode that I can’t pull myself out of.

Sometimes it would seem like my depressive episodes would hit for no reason at all. They would just come out of nowhere. And sometimes it seemed as if my own negative thinking would bring them on. I never had a real bad habit in general of negative thinking but just like people in general, I would on occasion get caught in a trap of negative thoughts about myself and certain situations. And when this would happen, it sometimes would bring on an episode.

So now I’m extra, extra careful to consciously watch my thoughts.

When I started to get truly happy in the middle of episodes I kept believing I would never again have another episode but I always did. I would suffer heartbreak after heartbreak because I truly belied I was “normal” like a person blessed to not have episode after episode every couple of months but then another shattering episode would hit hard. I wouldn’t accept this. I wanted all or nothing.

I wanted my depressive disorder to be a thing of the past, to be a memory, not my current reality, not my current truth.

Severe long term depression runs in my blood. It runs in my family.

But I have come to accept and tolerate that maybe my depression will always be part of this life. I won’t always be depressed at every second or everyday or every week but it will always come back maybe but it will always end. And it’s worth holding on and living through the depression. I always had it and also been happy but now even more frequent happiness!

Acceptance has liberated me and I have better coping mechanisms to handle the episodes than I used to.

During one of my hospitalizations for depression, a psychiatric technician told us to find and embrace our inner sun and let it shine through.

I love that. ❤

I may write of my experience with depression in this blog somewhat often but it will never be to dwell on or curse it. Only to bring hope to what so frequently feels like a hopeless situation for so many. To bring light to the darkness. I write of it to show how it is possible to recover for the most part and muster up strength and courage and to bring what I have learned into writing and help others who may benefit.

But my posts here will not always be about my depression. 😉

I hope anyone struggling in anyway will find hope, strength, consolation, and the inspiration and motivation to keep going even with the pain.

It’s worth it. ❤ 🙂

It’s raining leaves & love «3 <3 :-) :-D

ImageI wrote this a few days ago and tried to post it but my phone or something wouldn’t allow me so here it is today!

Yay!

When I woke up today I was so hot even with my window open and air coming through. It felt more like Summer than Fall. I love warm weather and the warm seasons but after Summer & Spring should be over, I am definitely in the mood for the magic of the lovely Fall & Winter seasons! <3.

I wasn’t complaining about the weather. All weather has it’s blessings and beauty. But I won’t deny the fact that I have experienced a tinge of disappointment. It has been so incredibly warm here in Philadelphia, Pa and I have felt that the beautiful opportunity for Fall as been taken over by excessive warm weather. But anyway. Warm weather is lovely too and there’s no sense complaining.

But when I was sitting in work I noticed that it started to get very cool. Then all of a sudden, something magical and wondrous happened! It started raining leaves!

Lol ok not literally but it sure looked that way out the window!

The street where the store is that I work at is surrounded by beautiful trees. Many of the branches are now bare and some have crisp fall leaves flowing off and gently landing to the ground.

Suddenly there was a whirlwind of leaves that just started blowing off every tree on the street because of the wind and it looked beautiful and lovely like a splendid Autumn leaf storm!

😀

I also got to thinking about how blessed I am to have the positive work environment that I have.

I know the most wonderful people at work.

Since my mom and dad made me move to a new neighborhood when I was young, I haven’t been blessed with many close friendships. For a while, I actually had none and it caused me deep pain to have no connections to other kids.

Then when I came to college I had to leave my school friends and we lost contact a lot and it was not pleasant. There were moments of unbearable loneliness.

I’m shy and in my neighborhood there was never many kids my age so that combination added up to me being kind of friendless for so long. I wasn’t outgoing enough to go out looking for friends and there was no opportunities right around me like when I was little.

Also, I haven’t always been very close to most of my family either other than my mom, dad, and, sister. My sister is over 10 years younger than me. That’s a significant age difference for kids.

My loneliness got so extreme and often I began to feel not only unloved but un-lovable, also because of some verbal/emotional abuse that has happened in my family. And when I finally found a couple close friends I still struggled with loneliness occasionally even when I wasn’t physically alone. And depression sure doesn’t help that.

I still don’t have many friends or always get to see the ones that I do have as often as I would like.

But at work I am blessed to be surrounded by great and beautiful people that show me incredible acts of love so frequently.

I began to notice this more and more.

I read about a technique that people can do to bring more love and a sense of love into their lives. Make a list each day of acts of kindness and love shown to you by anyone who has done something loving towards you. This will make you feel more loved and appreciated.

People do little loving things every single day that may go almost un-noticed by the receiver. But when you open your mind and heart and begin to be more receptive, you’ll notice at a deeper level.

I haven’t written anything down but I now see more and more how much people do for me.

They go out of their way to help me and compliment me often and smile at me and say hello and I appreciate it more than I can say. And I truly hope they can feel and see my gratitude and love. I’m always saying thank you. And I help them as much as I possibly can with whatever they need.

Are there people showing you kindness and love that you haven’t even noticed or noticed as much as you could have? Look at all the “little” and “simple” acts of kindness that you are receiving day by day. They are actually greater than you may have realized.

When you let them, they can touch your life and brighten your days with tremendous impact.

When someone holds a door for you, offers you a sweet and genuine compliment, has a pleasant conversation with you, trusts you enough to tell you something, smiles at you, is sincerely interested in how you are today….all of these things are amazing acts of kindness.

I hope that you can all feel the amazing love all around you. ❤

Live Every Day as a thank you. <3

<img src="https://adoseofinspiration.blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/klimmjdelphia-20121021-02722.jpg" class="size-full" alt="Live Every Day as a thank you.

I believe gratitude should be felt, practiced, expressed (in any way), and celebrated all year long. Not just during the holiday season or holiday. And not just when a big special event occurs. But all year, every day, every waking moment.
This is definitely easier to say and write than put into practice. Even the most happiest and grateful people usually find some moments where actively practicing or expressing gratitude is just undesirable, maybe even seemingly impossible and just too much to ask for.
How can you feel gratitude when you’re depressed? Or sick? Or in the midst of tragedy or an extremely stressful event? Or even during a simple “bad day”?
There are various ways to feel it even during those occasions but it will be hard. But very worth it! ❤
It takes practice. Many of us have moments where gratitude comes easy and most of us have moments where gratitude never even crosses our minds even when those moments are good and amazing. While we are appreciating the moment, we forget to actually stop and consciously allow gratitude to sink in and overflow throughout our being, and let it bubble in our very essence.
If you allow yourself to do this every single day all throughout the day for both simple and small things as well as big things, it will be easier to feel and express gratitude even when sickness falls over us and we are struck by tragedy.
During the holiday season people preach about thankfulness over and over and over again but how soon we forget when the season ends and the holiday festivities are over until next year. As if every day, every season is not worth a thank you. Or not a blessing. Why not let the cheer go on all year long right into the next year and beyond?
:-D. I think that's a good idea.
Gratitude lists and journals are the way to go!
Make a list of at least five things you are thankful for everyday! Big and small things alike!
And make mental lists throughout the day!
Get into the positive habit of seeking and finding things that are worthy of your gratitude. That is extremely easy because just about everything deserves a "thank you".
I hope everyone has a beautiful day/night and blessings to you all. ❤ 😀

P.s. In the picture above, I'm wearing my cornucopia heart necklace which is sterling silver and a symbol of gratitude and abundance. ❤

Random Acts of Kindness <3

ImageI love random acts of kindness no matter how big or small. Even a very simple act of kindness such as a friendly and warm hello by a stranger or a sweet compliment can have a significant impact on someone’s life at the moment and brighten someone’s day dramatically.

I have been severely depressed and completely hopeless for most of the last three weeks not for any one specific reason; it’s just my depressive disorder acting up. My emotions have been fluctuating back and forth mostly consisting of severe and deep emotional pain and despair and then feelings of complete and utter numbness that won’t let me feel at all. Sometimes I feel that the numbness is worse than the deep emotional pain.

I have lost interest in everything and have been experiencing memory and concentration difficulties.

The one good thing though is that unlike my typical recurrent episodes of severe depression, during this one I am able to sleep well for the most part even though this episode is quite severe and debilitating. It has taken a physical toll on my body and occasionally leaving me bed-ridden.

I have recently received some sweet compliments and comments by strangers which have lifted my mood dramatically.

One day on a bus recently, a sweet old man told me he likes my hair. He wasn’t trying to hook up with me or receive anything in return; all he wanted was to reach out in kindness and let me know that. And another day recently another sweet man smiled at me and said hello and that he hopes I have a great day while we crossed each other’s paths walking up the street. I have never seen him before that and his smile and tone of his voice was so genuine and caring.

This also uplifted me. No act of kindness is in vain and always has the potential to brighten someone’s day.

I love witnessing acts of kindness also, even ones I, myself, am not involved in. I find this deeply inspirational.

I know that sometimes when people receive an incredible act of kindness, it can be quite shocking to the receiver or the witness. They don’t expect that a stranger would ever be that kind or generous and loving to a person that is unknown to that stranger.

TI hope that many, many more people can be inspired to want to go out of their way and help someone in need, whether the person in need is a stranger, friend, family member, or anyone else. When you see someone on the street who may need help, it would be amazing to stop and ask if that person needs anything even if it may be putting you out for a while.

If someone in line gets up to pay and doesn’t have enough money, it may put you out a couple of dollars to help but it can uplift that person dramatically. And it’s worth it!!

Some people say acts of kindness are not really selfless because the person feels good helping someone. And feeling good is a reward. But just that fact that someone feels good helping someone not expecting any tangible reward in return shows how selfless that person is. ❤

While it’s true that some people may be ungrateful and bitter when someone tries to help, I believe it’s still worth the risk. Many people will be helped and thankful for your kindness and if they aren’t, you can just grant their wishes and back off. But the fact that some people will be ungrateful does not mean that we shouldn’t reach out to people.

I also find that interacting with people helps greatly even though it doesn’t completely lift the depression.

There were days I felt like I couldn’t go to work. But I wasn’t able to take off so I had to force myself to go feeling sickly and heavy all over. But once I started to interact with customers it got so much better.

Depression often makes us want to withdraw and curl up in bed or on the floor and completely give up on everything. But that just feeds into the depression and worsens it. It is much better to get up and get out and do anything other than isolate ourselves.

We don’t have to act happy when we aren’t but we should definitely gently and firmly get ourselves out of bed and do something.

I got to see my good friend recently. And that helped me a lot. We went out for tea one night. He is away for a while doing work in another country so I cannot see him much but I love when he gets to visit back home for a while. ❤

I hope anyone out there who is struggling with any kind of pain or illness whether it’s physical or emotional can find consolation quickly and engage in activities that are healing and uplifting and remember to never give up even when it feels like the pain or sickness or fatigue will not end. My recurrent episodes usually feel permanent but they never are. They always end and the genuine happiness in the middle of episodes is worth waiting and holding on for.

Even when it all feels so hopeless, it really isn’t.

Moods change. They come and go. Even mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder and others are not permanent or written in stone. People with them can find relief. Even if we have recurrent episodes, we also can find happiness and relief in the middle.

A Kind Heart

“Strong people don’t put others down…they lift them up.” ~Michael P. Watson

We should try to build each other up, not drag each other down. I have seen so many people who intentionally, consciously go around looking for and focusing on the flaws they see in people, even trivial ones like someone’s physical appearance and many of the “flaws” they point out aren’t even flaws, just differences. I believe that most people who are generally truly satisfied and happy with their own lives and self don’t go around trying to degrade and vilify others.

We all have something that someone else will view as unpleasant or as an imperfection or flaw. No one is absolutely perfect in everyone’s eyes.

I can even understand not liking a certain person but I have known people who negatively gossip and degrade everyone they can about every aspect of the people.

Sometimes when people would do something bad to me or talk negatively about me or make stuff up, I would seek revenge and do it back to the person but I have come to realize that that isn’t the best that I can be. I’m better off ignoring them or confronting them in a civilized manner. I don’t have to like people who destructively criticize me but I can handle it better than lowering myself to their level. The truth is, it’s not good to myself, that person, or the world around me to degrade anyone even if that person is doing something wrong. I think constructive criticism is often good but should be gentle and truly intended to help a person, not drag the person down.

I recently saw a picture on Facebook of a girl who is not very thin that someone put on so that everyone can make fun of her. There were so many negative comments, not one constructive, just cruel to try to be funny or hurt her.

I find that absolutely horrible that someone can want to devastate her like that. They don’t even know her. It wasn’t even like she did something seriously wrong to them. And even if she did, it wouldn’t be right.

But it’s even more weird that they would do that to a person just because of her weight.

I also saw recently on Facebook that a girl who is twenty-something posted a short list of goals she would like to accomplish.

Some of them are to make more friends, make more bead bracelets, paint her nails more, learn to drive, start a craft business at home….all simple things like that.

People vilified her for being so simplistic and called her pathetic and immature and said those are goals she should have had when she was a teenager.

They were comparing their busy, stressful lives to her laid back, calm, peaceful one.

I think that’s ridiculous because there’s nothing at all wrong with having simple goals even as an adult.

Being busy and stressed out isn’t better than focusing on the simple pleasures in life.

It’s up to each person to choose how to live.

We shouldn’t judge other people by our own standards or dreams.

It’s amazing to focus on the small things and be child-like and youthful. That’s not the same as immature.

Busyness and stress do not equal purpose or value anymore than peace and calmness, and simplicity do.

If someone is content with a simple life of simple goals and small things then that’s great.

What matters is that we all have a sense of purpose and happiness with how we live, not what brings us that happiness or sense of purpose. We’re all different and that’s a good thing.

People were also severely criticizing stay at home moms, saying they do nothing and throw away their lives slaving over children and housework instead of doing great things. And calling them lazy.

I also find this ridiculous.

If that is what their heart desires, to stay at home and care for their children, that is great that they have the opportunity to do that.

Just because that kind of life doesn’t appeal to some doesn’t mean it isn’t great.

Like I said, we should all do what we want, whatever brings us joy and a sense of purpose, not what others think we should do.

I have been negatively criticized by some for my frequent positive and cheerful attitude. Someone has actually called it “disgusting”.

I have also heard people call positive attitudes “immature”, “fake”, and “annoying”.

It’s ok for people to have those opinions even though I disagree. Being positive as much as possible does not entail ignoring negative things or repressing them, just not letting them drag us down or get to us too much.

I also think it’s wise and very mature to look at the bright side instead of frequently flipping out and reacting negatively to any little thing that goes wrong.

I am aware that negative things should be addressed and not always be completely ignored. But that doesn’t mean we have to obsess over them and dwell on them and get severely depressed over them.

I think we should absolutely focus on and bask in the small pleasures around us. They’re everywhere if we would just slow down to notice. We can’t always have big things that will bring us pleasure. We can’t always buy expensive things, or win the lottery, or go on a big vacation or have the job of our dreams and even if we do get those things, very often the thrill is diminished after a while when it’s no longer new. The novelty wears off and the thing is taken for granted.

The truth is we should take parts of our day everyday to feel gratitude for everything we have, big and small.

Whether or not we have those big things, the little things are there everyday and can bring us immense pleasure. ❤

The truth is if people feel the need or desire to attempt to drag others down for no specific reason and speak/write negatively of them the people very likely have a problem with their own lives and selves and they either don’t consciously realize or are too afraid to examine themselves and attempt to change for the better. So instead of negatively/destructively criticizing others, they should instead examine themselves and their own lives. That is way more effective than dragging other people down. Negative talking about other people is rarely productive or effective in a positive way.

It may bring the person doing the negative talking an initial sense of gratification for a few minutes or whatever but in the end it does not make that person a better person at all. In fact, I feel that when we degrade each other, in the process we are lowering and degrading ourselves. We’re not being the best we can be but instead sinking to a level we can be way above. Why not be the kind of person who uplifts and brings people up and sees the goodness and beauty in people instead of the “flaws”?

When people are unhappy and bitter in their own lives, they often feel relief trying to convince themselves that someone else is “worse” than they are. But whether or not that’s true, pointing it out about someone doesn’t make you any better than you were or better than that person.

Chances are, if you talk negatively about people, they will do it back to you and try to make you feel low, perpetuating the whole thing. This isn’t good for anyone.

We should allow other people’s beauty, successes, fortunes, happiness, and accomplishments to inspire and motivate us, not make us feel jealous and depressed because we don’t have what they have. We can all do something great for ourselves and others. Even something as simple as being uplifting and positive and encouraging. You don’t have to accomplish big things to be great.

Just being a great person with valuable qualities and characteristics is good enough.

If you are someone who feels the need to vilify people you don’t even know well or people who haven’t done this to you, you will likely benefit by examining yourself more instead of those people because this is an indication that you are unhappy or bitter about something in your life. Then you can work on yourself for the better.

It is normal and even ok to get a little jealous sometimes or strongly desire what others have. But when it’s so frequent or strong or interferes with your life or friendships/relationships with others then that’s when it becomes a problem. But the good news is that it can be helped if you focus on the goodness in yourself and cherish it and not let what you think are flaws make you feel low about yourself.

Let’s feel happy for ourselves and others who experience great things!! ❤

I’m extremely empathetic which is great but also has a somewhat negative side.

I take great pleasure in the success of others but I also take on the world’s pain.

I find though, that I absolutely love feeling thrilled for others as I am for myself when great things happen to them.

When we help others and uplift them, it makes ourselves feel wonderful.

Image.  .  Hello darlings! Today I am making it a point to make a big leap to consciously look for the good in the day and things! Many, many days, the positive aspects jump out at me with ease and not much work is needed. But today is not really one of those days. I am feeling physically unwell, getting over the worst cold of my life and struggling with the consequences of severe lack of sleep, some mild tmjd issues, and extreme heat of 105 degrees I think and it’s taking somewhat of a toll on my mind as well. In my house and at my workplace the air conditioners feel more like broken fans and sometimes even blow hot air out. Yuck! I won’t say I’m exactly uninspired but it’s a little bit harder for me today to feel the positive. The negative is tugging at me BUT I will definitely make it a point to not succumb and to go out of my way LOOKING for and listing the positives and good in today.

Earlier today I was acting like literally a spoiled little brat. Worse than a bratty young teenager, I was kind of acting like a restless three year old toddler because of a disagreement with my dad. I was refusing to eat anything because of my anger.

Then it hit me how I was being and my negative emotions started to melt away and amusement started to creep in and I found myself laughing at myself. A 26 year old acting like a 3 year old! 😉

Now I’m at work for an 8 hour shift which isn’t bad but the heat is oh so scorching and completely uncomfortable.

I decided to train my brain to look for and focus on the positive aspects of the day and to look for the greatness surrounding me today.

1.) I had a disagreement with my dad BUT at least I have a daddy who I usually always get along with.

2.) It’s so hot today BUT at least I have shelter and cooler weather will be here soon enough.

3.) I got very little sleep last night because of the heat BUT as I said at least it will be cooler and I can get more sleep.

4.) I have a headache and some tmj pain BUT at least it’s not unbearable or even bordering on severe. It’s uncomfortable but mild.

5.) I’m physically un-well BUT at least it’s ending and not just beginning.

Some other positives

❤ I’m sitting here enjoying the daylight and breeze softly blowing the trees, there’s stunningly beautiful deep pink flowers with vibrant green leaves in the distance outside my work window, I have my phone, friendly smiles….

It truly helps to look for the positive sparkling amidst the darkness. ❤ 🙂

The Importance of Acknowledging Gratitude

Why gratitude and consciously making a point to acknowledge it is important:

1.) It makes us focus and be aware of the positive in our lives. We all have good & bad. Too many of us too often let the bad take over and weigh us down. It’s so often so easy to get caught up in the stress and negative of life. So consciously and intentionally making a list of the positives and even negatives that we are grateful for can train our minds to live gratitude as a way of life and it will seep into our beings unconsciously as well. The list can me mental but it’s great to write it down

2.) It can transform your bad or negative point of view into a positive perspective: If you have come across a difficult person, you can be thankful you are not that person or like that person and focus on what that person can unintentionally or unknowingly teach you. We all have lessons and things we can teach each other. If your job sucks, you can focus more on the fact that you have a job! If your kids are causing you stress, you can dwell more on the great love you feel for them anyway….

3.) Negatives can remind you of how well off you actually are even when you may not feel that you are doing well or have many blessings:

Is your job stressful? At least you have one until you can focus on getting a new and better one. Too many bills? At least you have a house, phone, internet, shelter….. Arguing with a friend or lover or family member? At least you have a person in your life that you are close to. It may not always be easy but still worth it!

4.) Acknowledging your blessings in a positive way can make you act more positively:

When you live in gratitude, it makes sense that you’ll be happier and more pleasant in general. And you’ll treat others pleasantly.

My suggestions:

<3. Have a gratitude session or meditation when you wake up to think of everything and everyone you are thankful for.

<3. Thank people personally when they do good for you. Thank Your friends, family, strangers, anyone. You can say it in person or text, message, e-mail, or call. No matter how small the act of kindness is, it deserves a thank you. ❤

<3. Have a gratitude journal where you frequently list things you are grateful for.

<3. Always make an attempt to see the positive even in negative situations or events and then giver thanks for it.

<3. Be thankful everyday all year, not just on the holiday.

I am very open to other people’s ideas so please if you have any to add, let me know!

Thank you so much for reading! 😀 ❤

Positive Thinking & some tips!! :-)

I wrote this in my phone a while ago in the memos but never published it anywhere. So here it is! i updated some of the tips.

I recently had the urge to write a negative status on Facebook about my new phone to complain about how it doesn’t work perfectly or as well as I would like it to work. I also recently considered writing a status to curse my life for being depressed, beyond just sadness and for suffering with a headache disorder(ouch!!) that can be very severe and so incredibly hard to handle.

Then I realized what a spoiled brat I was acting like about my phone. Lol What if I had no phone? Or what if my phone was only able to make/receive calls or just be able to call and text?

I am beyond lucky with this beautiful life.

I realize that some people, on some occasions while experiencing pain and negativity would benefit by hearing how much worse it can be and being suggested to think positively while other people do not want to hear that at all and would become worse off and very aggravated and disturbed even if those thoughts were provided with the most sincerest and well intentions.

Many people who are unhappy and struggling do not want to hear “Think positively!” Or “It could be so much worse!” No matter how helpful thinking positively may be and how much worse it really can be, those suggestions often just hurt people more. Many just want someone to care and listen and be present. So when handling an unhappy/hurting/suffering person, we may want to think again about saying those things. I think it’s ok to gently tell or remind ourselves that or say those things in general to people so they can be reminded but it’s not always helpful to people who are currently suffering or struggling and not always wise to suggest it to them directly even in a loving way.

I scolded myself for acting like that and reminded myself that while life and technology often bring many, many problems, it’s better to have them than not because I believe that they bring or have the potential to bring more good than bad.

If you think about it, would you prefer to have the advanced technology that we have today along with the many negative consequences it brings such as crashing, working imperfectly, being lost, stolen….or not have it at all? Many people will answer this differently. I, myself, prefer the technology along with it’s bs than not at all. It let’s us have access to the internet, social media, and many, many more great things.

It’s the same thing with life itself. Would I prefer my life along with the pain it sometimes brings or no life at all? Usually, I prefer my life. And often even when I think I prefer death, I don’t really prefer death but just want my pain to end, not my whole life.

I get my life confused with my pain or think the pain is too bad and permanent so I prefer or think I prefer death over life.

I realize though that just like our advanced technology that we often so incessantly complain about, life itself, is a beautiful blessing and to be blessed with it means to have to hurt or suffer every now and then.

It’s the price we pay for having something so great and beautiful and often complicated or seemingly complicated.

I will try to always remind myself of this when I think about, contemplate, ending my life (this is something I struggle with occasionally because of my bouts of extremely severe depression. It’s not always or necessarily often, it comes and goes, sometimes frequently or can be like I don’t even have depression because I’m so happy for so long. Sometimes I forget i even ever had the condition. But, unfortunately, it does always come back sooner or later) or unnecessarily complaining over something frivolous . It helps me to think positively and I believe it would help most everyone if they give it a try. It may or may not work instantly but if practiced often and well enough, it’s sure to work wonders at least occasionally.

I struggle with depression, so I know intimately how difficult and sad it can be to live but I have found so many coping mechanisms and techniques to help me often see it through. They aren’t miracle cures but they help ease the pain.

Here are some things that help me and may help others, too. Not everyone will benefit by the same coping mechanisms. Something that helps one person may not help another.

1.) Focus on the simple things that aren’t complicated, positive things that are readily available to you. (Flowers, stars, friends, music, books, uplifting pictures…..). Take pleasure in and be grateful for them.

2.) Whenever you catch yourself saying or thinking something bad about yourself and unnecessarily/destructively criticizing yourself make it a point to write down or at least think three or more good things for every bad thing.

3.). Celebrate (even if it’s only in your mind) and praise yourself for all of your accomplishments even simple or small ones. This is not conceit or arrogance or self absorption, it’s treating yourself good the way you treat others like your friends and family and other people you like or love.

4.) Do things for yourself that are fun or calming to you and be sure to have occasions throughout your day where you attend to yourself and not just other people.

5.) Similar to the other tip about thinking positively about yourself, think positively about life in general. Look more at the positive in everyday even when it’s difficult. Don’t ignore or deny the bad or negative but get your mind in a pattern for focusing more on the bright side. And get in the habit of actively looking for positive things then this can lead to unconsciously looking for the positive in everyday.

6.) Vent to a true/good trust-worthy friend or in a journal (notebook or online). Public or non public. Anonymous or not. But be aware that when you tell certain people or post publicly you may be negatively criticized. It’s best to try not to take that too hard though. When people don’t understand things or when they are afraid or unhappy with themselves they often want to drag others down.

7.) Try to get out of the environment that is negative or triggering tress. If it’s your physical environment and you can physically get up and go, let’s go! A walk, exercise, go someplace magical or that we love! If you can’t or don’t want to move physically then take a little bit of a mental vacation! Meditate, guided imagery (imagine you are somewhere else), imagine, dream. You can find steps to these online. Get lost in your imagination. Let it run wild!

8.) Make a list of positive, uplifting songs and play them over and over!

9.) Coloring books! Or draw and color. To me coloring is so soothing!

10.) Buy yourself flowers.

11.) Talk to yourself in your mind how you would talk to your friend or another who needs cheering up. 🙂

Take your own tips.

12.) Help someone else in need. Even if you don’t know the person. Write something positive online. Buy a homeless, money-less person a cup of tea or coffee or water.

13.) Read jokes or think of other things that amuse you! :-). Laugh out loud until it hurts! This always cheers me up!

14.) Try not to let an unhappy day or days make you feel as if your entire life is bad.

And try not to consider any day a “bad” day. Any day you’re alive is a great day!

15.) Read uplifting and inspirational quotes! ❤

16.). Remember it’s ok to have unhappy days and bad moods so don’t mentally abuse yourself for feeling unhappy or angry, sad, or depressed.
