I am SO thankful I’m not in any pain anymore after oral surgery two weeks ago! My jaw pain is gone, and my gums only experience mild pain, especially when chewing. Holy guacamole!! It felt like that pain would never let up. But it’s gone!! β€οΈ At last! The amazing healing capabilities of the body.
My upper gums are still swollen, like really swollen. I don’t know if that’s normal. I looked it up online if it’s normal two weeks after tooth extractions. It said it is when complex oral surgery or tooth sectioning is involved, which I had both. (Tooth sectioning is the sawing of the teeth into smaller pieces, to remove them. It’s as fun as it sounds π€£)
It said the swelling just shouldn’t be getting worse, which it’s not. But I’m still unsure it’s all good. I may have to call the oral surgeon if it doesn’t go away soon. But at least there’s no pain. I’ll take the swelling any day over pain.
No more Tylenol!!
I woke up in the middle of the night with a weird and random thought on my mind. I must have been thinking it unconsciously at first and then it manifested in my sleep?
I can never eat nuts again. Like ever (unless maybe I get implants?). They are too hard to eat with only gums. Even if it doesn’t hurt, the gums alone can’t break them. I tried eating burnt fries that were hard. Just wasn’t happening. The gums simply canβt break down hard things. The fries slid around my mouth staying intact.
It was a strange experience to be that limited. It was a lowkey sense of helplessness or powerlessness. There was absolutely nothing I could do but take the fries back out of my mouth. It was interesting to experience that disability.
When you always have teeth, you don’t realize what it would be like to literally not be able to break down food in your mouth. It wasn’t a negative experience, more like learning what my body is and is no longer capable of. It’s kind of interesting learning to adjust to having no teeth. It’s not as bad as it may seem.
I can eat burnt fries with dentures, they aren’t that hard, just hard for gums.
Nuts would crack our dentures so fast. Lol
I don’t know if implants can chew like real teeth. They are better than dentures, that’s for sure. But are they as good as real teeth? Who knows? I can easily look it up, but I don’t care to at the moment. For now, I can only get implants in my dreams, so what they can and cannot do doesn’t concern me. Lol
So, I guess my nut eating days are down the drain. Not that I ever ate nuts very much anyway lol I did love chocolate covered almonds, but they are too expensive, so I rarely got them. Like $15 for a small round container with like ten nuts in it. Hell nahh.
I remember in the beginning of 2020, though, I was eating them everyday.
It wasn’t really a negative thought, but maybe was tinged with a hint of sadness, like a chapter closing. Oh well, I’m sure I’ll survive without my nuts. Lol I like peanut butter more anyway. I can’t eat that with dentures, but I can take them out to eat it.
Also, I can eat potato chips surprisingly easy!

And why are internet people, particularly old white men, such a-holes? Lol

Random Oldie:
Let me tell you that it’s not easy to keep love flowing smooth
You know, people are people, they all have their moods
But it’s so nice just to have someone like you
Who wants a smooth and easy thing
And all the good times and the joy that it brings
My lady love, you’ve been with me
Through all of my ups and downs
And my crazy turn-arounds
My lady love, you got the love I need
So stay around
Heaven sent my lady love β€οΈ
