There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race

Yeah, it would be fun! 🖤 Just give me a dog and cozy fleece blankie and some snacks and my tablet to watch movies, and we’re good to go! 🎃👻
When I first saw this meme, my instant thought was I don’t even want that kind of money. That’s ridiculous. That’s obscene. No one needs $200, billion.
Then I thought, yes, I do want all that money. I absolutely do.
I would give a significant amount of it away. To literally anyone I could. I would spend the rest of my days, or however long it lasts, giving away as much as possible.
I would be using it to help society every single day. I would be tipping all food workers excessively. I would be paying off people’s medical debt all around the country. I would be donating it to every place in the city: schools, animal shelters, daycares, libraries, school bus services, hospitals, medical centers, mental health clinics, animal hospitals, small businesses, places that help get people food and shelter, science and medical research, places that help the environment…I would find random strangers and anyone I know, about to lose their houses or go bankrupt, and pay off their bills.
I would share a post on social media and ask everyone who sees it to share every gofundme account they know about, in the comments. Then I would click on every single one and donate however much they needed to reach their goal, all in one sitting. I wouldn’t even care what or who it’s for. Anyone at all who needed or wanted money and crossed paths with me, would get it.
I would pay for weddings and vacations and Christmas and birthday gifts for anyone’s kids who needed it, and pay for people to get their new businesses up and running. I would pay for holiday celebrations for those in need. I would pay for house renovations and makeovers. I would pay for anyone’s IVF and abortions and elective surgeries as well as medically necessary surgeries. I would buy people cars and houses. I would pay for everyone’s pet care. I would pay for as many young people’s educations and school supplies as I could.
Literally anyone could ask me for $1,million, and I would hand it over, no questions asked. It wouldn’t matter to me if I like the person or not, or if that’s a good person or not, because we can never ever go wrong with helping the world be a better place. Any little bit of suffering erased or reduced, and any spark of joy we bring to the world makes it better.
Someone’s suffering or unhappiness or lack of something will never benefit anyone, in any real way (I’m not talking about funding wars and genocide and all that, I meant anything any ordinary person needs or wants, not funding corrupt politicians). It may bring a petty and temporary sense of satisfaction to someone who doesn’t like the person, but it will never make the world better. It can only make it worse.
The happier and healthier we all are, the better our world will be. That’s a hill I will die on. I will never wish true suffering or unhappiness on any sentient being. I only wish the absolute best, as long as it’s not at someone else’s expense. This makes the world better for all of us.
I would share another post, asking anyone who sees it, who desperately needs money urgently, to share their venmo accounts, and I would send however much they need. And would throw in extra.
I would donate money to everything in the entire city or country that needs it, all research, every organization, every program, every project, every business, every person.
I would go on a wild giving spree.
Anything you want, you got it. 🧡
And I wouldn’t expect a cent of it back, or anything in return. Some people, when helping someone, say all they want in return is for the one they helped to pay it forward. But I wouldn’t even ask for that. I wouldn’t even put the minor burden on someone to feel like they have to give back just for having their basic needs met, or even if it was a case of something less necessary, like paying for a wedding or vacation.
My only desire would be to attempt to heal and bring joy. What happens after that would be out of my hands. And that’s good enough for me.
I don’t understand why billionaires/multi-billionaires aren’t doing this. And there’s no way that they are because if they were, if even one was, society would be dramatically different than it is, significantly better.
People say we can’t judge them because we don’t know what they are doing with their money to help people. I know it’s sure as hell not enough.
They have multiple multi-million dollar cars and houses and watches/handbags (that sit in glass cases in their mansions), jets, and yachts…while people, including children, are dying because they can’t pay for insulin or surgery they need to live. There are people who need a wheelchair or other essential medical equipment and can’t pay for it.
But someone can have 15+ yachts, at least one multi-million dollar house in every single state in the country, 10+ multi-million dollar cars for each member of their family, and $55, million watches & handbags on display in their $100, million mansions. It’s beyond gross.
I can’t wrap my head around that level of greed. Holding onto money when they literally, physically won’t even be able to spend it all in their lifetime. Such corruption. It’s not a coincidence that every billionaire is greedy to a pathological extent. It’s just that’s the only kind of person who can become a billionaire.
They have more money than we can even fathom. My mind can’t even grasp the concept of a billion dollars. And they have it, and they just keep getting richer and richer, financially, while the world around them struggles. Some of them are nearing $3 or 4,billion, or even reached it already. All I have to say to that is, “TF?!” Imagine when someone’s handbag literally costs more than your whole house and their wristwatch is worth more than your kidneys, and it’s all just for show of status.
Just one of them has more money than countless upper middle class people have all together. And all they do is hoard it and take more and more, while the rest of the people get less and less, losing their healthcare and ability to pay for food and other basic needs, paying hundreds of dollars a month for inadequate health insurance and still being in extreme medical debt. Having to be poor, but not too poor for Medicaid, while one person has $4,billion, ten mansions, five yachts, six jets that pollute the environment, and a $55, million watch in a case on display. It’s unconscionable.
It’s the wrong people who become billionaires.
I would choose to be dirt poor if my only choice was that or having $3,billion all to myself. I would be mortified and self-loathing and guilt- ridden if I had that kind of money and kept it all. I don’t know how they aren’t. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night and would feel like 100 showers a day wasn’t enough to clean me.
This post is not about financially well-off people. It’s not about upper middle-class people. It’s not about financially rich people. Those are people who have a mortal amount of money. They have to work to maintain it.
They aren’t getting richer at the expense of others. They aren’t acquiring millions of dollars with every breath they take. To people like me, who have so little money, I have to call up and ask for a phone service extension to get up the money to pay my $50 phone bill, before I get paid, those people may seem rich. But it’s nothing like the multi-billionaires
Even though they have a lot of money, they don’t have the ability to do everything I said above. Everyone should have the money to not only have all their basic needs met, but also to live and have fun. We should all be able to go on vacation and buy things we don’t need. Life shouldn’t be about just struggling and surviving and work. There should also be joy and play. I’m glad for the people who are well off. I prefer that for them than struggling to pay a $50 phone bill.
This isn’t about the rich. It’s about the filthy rich.
This is about corrupt, greedy, billionaires who live at our expense.
So yeah, give me that $200,billion. I would risk my own life for it, for the opportunity to heal the world. So I can make everyone’s dreams come true. So I can make the world’s dream come true where as many as possible have enough.
I would make sure I don’t go into debt in the process, though lol The unfortunate reality is that when someone isn’t used to having money and then gets a significant amount, it’s very easy to use it all up while also going into debt and being worse off than before the money. I am aware of this, so I would be generous but cautious.
I would consult a financial advisor to be sure I understand what I’m doing. That would be my only concern about giving random people a significant amount of money. I would be unintentionally contributing to some of them going into debt and being worse off than they were before.
Being homeless or poor is a way of life that can’t necessarily be easily fixed through money, even enough money to live. It’s a mindset that needs work to overcome. Money is not a quick fix. Too much money would be overwhelming to many people who never had money like that before and don’t know how to manage it. I could unintentionally aid in ruining their lives.
That’s something to think about. Or would be if I ever really thought I could ever encounter billions of dollars 😆 Not that I would in my wildest dreams. But then again, you never know, never say never, right? Life is full of possibilities! I’ll hold out some hope for all of us lol
I don’t even consider it “generous,” or even necessarily kind, but just the normal, sane, right thing to do. I wouldn’t see it as me doing “extra” for anyone, but meeting the basic needs of the world.
Sometimes it feels a bit helpless, like being powerless and trapped, to have this intention but not have the ability to do anything with it. It’s this desire and intent all trapped inside with nowhere to go. And those people have it. They have the power to do what I would die to do. And they choose to only benefit themselves while throwing the rest of us under the bus.
A couple hundred billion dollars isn’t enough to heal the entire world. But it’s enough to do a significant amount of good that would dramatically change some people and things for the better.
If $200 billion ever makes it into my hands, the country won’t know what hit it (in the most positive way). Lol
